BMW X5 Front Brake Pad & Rotor Replacement DIY (2019-Present BMW G05 X5 xDrive30i, xDrive40i)
►Replacing brake pads and rotors is a universal experience for vehicle owners. BMW has recently changed its policy, and brake jobs are no longer covered under warranty, meaning much more cost for any owner headed in for service. Replacing your pads and rotors yourself is a great way to save a significant amount of money and gain some useful wrenching skills.
When the pads wear down, the pad wear sensor will trip. This will signify that you have around 1000 miles of safe driving before the pads need immediate replacement. However, depending on the signs, specifically, if there's any juddering, shaking, or grinding under braking, both the pad and rotor could need replacement earlier. Replacing them is very straightforward and can be done in a couple of hours if you take your time.
In this video, FCP Euro's BMW Expert, Gareth Foley, replaces the front brake pads and rotors on a BMW G05 X5.

BMW N55 Oil Filter Housing Gasket Replacement DIY (2009-2019 BMW F30 335i, E82 135i)
Переглядів 917День тому
►BMW's oil filter housing makes oil filter changes a genuinely simple process. Unfortunately, its gasket has been a headache source for many owners in the last two decades. Replacing your BMW's oil filter housing gasket will be a part of long-term ownership, and it's never too early to become familiar with the job. A rubber gasket seals the housing to the engine block, preventing oil from escap...

►Magnesium alloys are lightweight and robust but very susceptible to corrosion. Few know that better than E9X M3 owners whose magnesium valve covers leak because of that. On top of that being another hassle of ownership, they're expensive to replace and guaranteed to do it again. But what if there was a better option? NRW Design offers a set of aluminum valve covers identical to the Genuine mag...
Volkswagen Atlas Cabin Air Filter Replacement DIY (2018-2021 VW Atlas, MQB Platform, 3.6 VR6)
Переглядів 519День тому
►Modern automotive HVAC systems are as responsive and reliable as ever. However, the air they pump out is only as good as the filter they pull through. The cabin air filter ensures the air from the vents is clean, but like an engine air filter, it gets clogged and needs replacing. Without replacing the filter, you risk mold and mildew forming on a surface that's already struggling to filter the...
Porsche 987 Cayman Waterpump & Thermostat Replacement DIY (2005-2008 987.1 Porsche Cayman & Boxster)

►Keeping your engine cool is a necessity while driving. The radiators, coolant, thermostat, and water pump all work together to make that happen, but the latter is a point of concern for the early 987.1 Caymans and Boxsters sold between 2005 and 2008. Porsche 987 water pump replacements are common occurrences as their intervals can be as short as 60,000 miles. It's a relatively small price to p...

►The timing belt on the Mk6 Jetta and Golf TDI engines is also responsible for driving the water pump. Question: When the new oil is back in on say ZF8HP55. Then I need to get it to 40C, then run through the gears. DO I need to have the wheels spinning? In other words, Can I go through the gears while Parked? Thank you. Would that be an issue.?

Hey Mike, great video! I have a F10 545d 95k miles and suspecting maybe a bad front left wheel bearing. My F10 has been sitting for about 3 years and i'm getting it back on the road. i just got new Formula F rotors and akebono ceramic pads from you guys. The issue is when driving theres a mild ticking coming from the front left (in sync with wheel rotation) and when i brake, its very pronounced, sound l like someone tapping on something. I took the wheel off this morning and can't hear or feel anything clicky when rotating the rotor. i thought it might have been paint on the rotor (i wiped the Z coat, and painted the hat and outer edges with high temp paint, to avoid future rust), but there wasnt enough paint to make noise, and the friction surfaces, inside and out, looked smooth and shiny. i'll check run-out of the rotor and hub next to rule out a bent hub or a crooked or bent rotor, but by eye the rotor looked true when i rotated it. but the weird thing is, it seemed very difficult to rotate the rotor, even with the wheel on. i dont think i could have made the wheel spin freely. when i tried to spin it, it just stops. i suppose the brake could be dragging, but it all feels normal while driving aside from the tapping sound. i just wanted to know if stiffness is normal in wheel rotation - due to big wheels, new pads, a dragging pad (none of which account for the tapping noise). or would a bad wheel bearing be on the suspect list for both issues?

SO! I tried to find what was making the clunk. I checked all the control arms on both sides, the steering links, the strut rods. Nothing seemed loose. I lubed the stabilizer bar bushings. I even tightened the hood. I heard the hood can be loose and cause a noise,,, nope.

They used to creek and squek and the car was embarrassing to Drive as when i was manovering the car in the Car park on a Full lock they were really creeking and you could hear it from outside the car so in the end i removed the subframe bushing inserts and they were not easy to remove the way i got them out was i pulled a corner of the insertband i put a thick screwdriver through and i rocked the instlert out the bush and once i got the inserts out that git rid of the creeking but i don't know what powerflex inserts are like but the ones off Amazon were Terrible But that is my own experience with the inserts Take care
